ESD is electrostatic discharge, or “the other type of contamination,” and it can wreak havoc in an electronics, aerospace or seminconductor critical environment. ESD prevention is a serious issue in these industries. ESD is invisible and undetectable, and it can be more harmful than particulate contamination to a microchip. Even though sub-micron particles inside a cleanroom are invisible to the naked eye, they can cause significant damage and result in failure.
