Efficient Wiping
Wipes are
typically used to remove contamination from all surfaces of critical environments, and are also used for wiping and cleaning products. They are designed to effectively pick up wet and dry contaminants, and hold the contaminants for proper disposal.
The three attributes to consider when choosing your cleanroom wipes are:
Particles
The number of particulates that are released by the wipe during an Air Particle Count (APC). What level of particle shedding is acceptable in your critical environment? |
Absorbency
The rate and amount of liquid that a wiper can hold, usually measured in milliliters (ml). What are your wipe absorbency requirements? |
Extractables
The chemical elements (i.e. silicon) extracted from the wipe in a wash test, generally measured in Parts Per Million (PPM) or Parts Per Billion (PPB). Which extractables create havoc in your environment? |
