For decades, the cleanroom consumables industry benefited from stable costs, predictable supply chains, and reliable demand forecasts. But 2025 brought an abrupt shift. A wave of tariff announcements early in the year drove up material costs and disrupted production logistics industry-wide, creating significant pressure on all suppliers.
In June 2025, Valutek implemented a single product-category-based tariff surcharge to offset these sudden increases in landed costs, which impacted all raw materials and finished goods entering the United States. At the time, this adjustment was expected to be temporary and could be adjusted as trade agreements evolved.
Since that mid-year pricing announcement, however, tariffs have continued to fluctuate with many both extended and increased – some temporarily, others indefinitely. Despite these ongoing cost pressures, Valutek has absorbed a substantial portion of the increases and continues to mitigate further impacts through diversified global sourcing and a flexible supply chain.
Table: Tariff Rate Changes on Cleanroom-Relevant HTS Codes

Sampling of base HTS codes impacted include (not limited to): 4015.19 / 3926.20 (gloves), 6307.10 / 4818.90 / 5603.12 (wipers), 6505.00 / 3926.20 / 6210.10 (apparel, garments), etc.
Maintaining Stable Pricing in 2026
Despite elevated tariff rates and continued uncertainty around product costs, Valutek is committed to maintaining pricing established in June 2025, with no additional price increases effective January 1, 2026. The 2026 pricing structure simply combines the June 2025 base pricing and the tariff surcharges into a single, unified price.
It’s important to note that the June 2025 adjustments were not conventional price increases. The surcharges stemmed from government-mandated tariffs that impact all importers of cleanroom consumable materials and finished goods, not just Valutek.
Staying Informed in a Changing Market
It’s more important than ever to understand how and why suppliers adjust pricing. Are changes tied to documented shifts in the market? Or are they broad, unexplained markups?
Trusted manufacturers will communicate proactively about pricing decisions and the forces behind them.
To manage critical cleanroom products effectively:
- Plan inventory carefully to prevent stockout situations.
- Evaluate new suppliers thoroughly by requesting samples and verifying quality.
- Monitor market updates from trusted sources.
As market pressures evolve, the difference between responsive, well-managed supply chains and reactive suppliers becomes increasingly clear. Having a partner who monitors global changes, anticipates risks, and communicates clearly can make a measurable difference in planning accuracy and operational continuity.
